Surreal pencil sketch. To be inked. #surreal #art #drawing #sketch #eye #veil (Taken with Instagram)
This is the final incarnation of the September 2012 rainbow weave collage.
I decided to add the drawing on top on a whim. Dave thought he could see the outline of a head in the colours of the weave, so I decided to build a surreal addition to that. I love the choker decorated with eyeballs, I think that’s a nice touch.
The weave took about 5 or 6 hours total, the drawing took a couple hours.
Another tab drawing
my mom bought me a samsung galaxy tablet for my birthday and i love it. while i was poking about in the app store i found a sketching app so i downloaded it.
needless to say i’m obsessed now. there are a bunch of really great brushes that allow for a lot of really intuitive surreal lines. this is the first of what will certainly be many.

Dave McKean is one of the few artists (especially comic artists) whom I can say has influenced and inspired me. His work, the stuff that I have seen, has touched me and changed me in some way.
Arkham Asylum painted a very unique picture in terms of media he used as well as the subject matter contained within the panels as I am a person who has suffered from mental illness.
Cages was a touching look at a relationship in an unconventional setting. Within the oversize, intensely illustrated book is the most honest look at two people who are drawn beautifully and inconsistently in a beautiful way.
Coraline became something to me that I can’t properly say in words. I’ve posted the link to the amazon listing for the copy of the book I have. I bought it a few years ago from Strange Adventures. It was my first signed book, and it is one of my favourite books.
just finished this one entitled “Dave eats leftover sushi on my bed”.
pardon the boxes in the background, i’m in the process of thinking about getting ready to pack up for when i move at the end of next month. i guess.
Evening gown by Lanvin; illustration by Jean Demarchy for Harper’s Bazaar, ca. 1955. (by skorver1)
Gorgeous.
Just a little something I’m thinking of throwing together for the fall.
I’m thinking of a medium wool or crushed velvet with a satin or similar trim and lining.
Colours are negotiable, but black and red are classic and easy, as well as very coordinatable.
This is what I did today in Fashion drawing. you liiiiiiiiike?
