This is the work in progress of the papercraft jacket I’m making for my Fashion, Art, Object & Identity class at NSCAD.
I’ve chosen to cut long strips out of the magazine paper to weave along the garment. This both strengthens the garment itself and further abstracts the fashion I’ve reappropriated. I started to see the pages I’d cut out as colour blocking experiments, so I chose the paper to make the strips by first sorting the pages by colour family and mixing colours.
I’m going to do it along the front as well. For the skirt, well. That’s a surprise.
That’s sick stuff Ivy!!!!
